Austrian electronic announcement and information platform “EVI” has been launched

In keeping with the digital age, the electronic announcement and information platform of the Austrian state, also known as "EVI" for short, has now been set up (https://www.evi.gv.at). EVI fulfils the function of a digital "noticeboard", to which all citizens and companies have access at any time and without restrictions.

Publication and announcement obligations remain in force

As of 1 July 2023, all information subject to publication requirements, which previously had to be published in the official gazette of the Wiener Zeitung, must be published on EVI. The more than 380 existing publication and announcement obligations of companies will therefore continue to exist.

In practice, the introduction of EVI has not changed the publication process. The publication must continue to be carried out by the obligated legal entities or by the competent body. The information to be published is to be sent by e-mail to office@evi.gv.at and is usually processed within four working days. The search function on EVI provides information on whether the publication has been carried out.

In principle free of charge

In principle, publication on EVI is free of charge for publications provided for by federal law and the previous obligation to pay costs no longer applies. However, if the Wiener Zeitung incurs additional expenses for the publication, for example, because the transmitted document does not comply with the formatting requirements according to the General Terms and Conditions of Publication (https://www.evi.gv.at/agb), the Wiener Zeitung may charge for these expenses at rates that are reasonable and in line with those of third parties.
