FAQ
How often do you meet?
There are regular opportunities to get together through online practice groups and virtual meetups. Our in-person events typically take place twice a year at different member locations around the world.
Who manages the network?
The network is managed by the member firms as a not-for-profit organisation. There is a steering committee of individuals from 7 member firms who are ultimately responsible for the strategy, marketing and direction of the network.
Do I have to refer work to the network?
No, you are not committed to refer all your international business to other firms in the network.
What are the key practice areas?
LNI member firms provide a full range of services to support international business such as corporate, foreign investments, M&A, company and commercial, anti-trust, dispute resolution, banking and finance, real estate, tax, intellectual property, and many other legal services.
Who can join the network?
LNI is open to new membership in jurisdictions where it is currently not represented. Member firms are small to mid-sized independent law firms. Each firm is required to have an exceptional reputation and the highest professional standards.
What are the selection criteria?
To ensure member firms meet the high professional standards expected applicants will go through a rigorous vetting process. During this process, we will assess the firm’s market position, rankings and gain feedback from their peers.
Is it exclusive?
The intention is that member firm should have exclusivity for their jurisdiction for all their areas of expertise. However there are a few exceptions – following LNI’s merger with OASIS, in a few jurisdictions, there were two or more members, and in some of the larger countries, such as the USA and Germany, there are a number of members.
